What is a bar type LCD?

A bar type LCD is an ultra-wide or stretched TFT display designed for narrow layouts such as dashboards, shelf-edge labels, EV chargers, transport signage and industrial control panels.

What are the interfaces for TFT display?

TFT displays support a variety of interfaces to match different systems. Common options include MCU parallel for simple control, SPI for compact designs, RGB for medium-to-high resolutions, and LVDS or MIPI DSI for faster data transfer in larger or high-resolution panels. Choosing the right interface depends on your controller, resolution needs, and application scenario.

Are TFT screens durable?

Yes, TFT screens are generally durable and designed for long-term use. Most modules have an LED backlight life of 30,000–50,000 hours, and industrial-grade versions can operate in wide temperature ranges (e.g., -20°C to +70°C or even -30°C to +80°C). Their durability also depends on the type of touch panel (RTP or CTP), housing, and protective glass used. With proper integration, TFT screens perform reliably in consumer products, industrial equipment, automotive dashboards, and outdoor devices.

Is TFT better than OLED?

TFT and OLED each have strengths, and “better” depends on the application. TFT LCDs are usually more affordable, have longer lifespans, and perform well in bright environments, making them common in industrial and automotive displays. OLED screens offer deeper blacks, higher contrast, and thinner form factors, but they can be more expensive and may suffer from shorter lifetime or burn-in. Choosing between them depends on whether cost efficiency, durability, or premium image quality is the priority.
